PARADE GRAND MARSHALS
We are pleased to announce Lyndon and Carol Randall will be our Lyons-Muir Island Fest 2015 Parade Grand Marshals. Lyndon and Carol are residents of Lyons... and Muir... and now, Lyons again, "for good, this time". Together, these two have served a total of nearly 65 years with our Lyons Twp./ Lyons-Muir Fire Department, with Lyndon serving the last 20 years as Chief and finishing his 35th on Monday, August 3. Both Lyndon and Carol have also put many years into organizing Island Fest in the past. "We are very honored to be recognized this way, thank you." See these two kicking back on the ol' Fire Dept float pulled by their son, Tommy, who is bringing their first grandchild (it's a boy!) to them in September. Congratulations, Lyndon & Carol, and thank you for all you have done and do for this community!
ISLAND FEST 2015 ROYALTY
Lyons Event Committee is proud to announce our Lyons-Muir Island Fest 2015 Prince & Princess, James Joseph Mason and Bailee Ann Rux.
Bailee, the daughter of Amber Rux, is a lifelong resident of Lyons. She is nine years old and will be entering the 4th grade at Twin Rivers Elementary. She enjoys sports like soccer and cheerleading with Young Champions. Bailee also likes attending activities at the library and helping her mom at the Fire Dept. She loves going on vacations and spending time with her cousins and her pets, a dog and two cats. Her mother says she is very proud of her because she filled out the application all by herself and she won.
James, the son of Sherrie Mason, is also a resident of Lyons. He will soon be 11 years old and will be entering 6th grade at Ionia Middle School this fall. He enjoys playing football, swimming and reading at the library. He also likes riding his bike to Grandma’s house. James finished all requirements of Cub Scout Pack 3088 last spring and is now a member of Boy Scout Troop 87. James has always volunteered for duties with the torch lightings at the Veterans Memorial.
These two fine young people will be presented to their community in Hazel Devore Park during Island Fest at 7:00 pm, Friday, August 7, 2015.
They both look forward to representing the Lyons-Muir community.
