Directions to Hazel Devore Island Park, Lyons, MI
Hazel Devore Park is located on a ten acre island on the Grand River donated to the Village of Lyons by Dr. Gietz with the stipulation that it be a park and that it be named for his daughter. The Village has made many improvements since its acquisition in 1976. The island is located on the Grand River a few hundred yards downstream from the Lyons Dam.
If you don't know it's there, you never really see it. "Lyons' best kept secret."
Main roads leading into Lyons:
Kimball Rd. Begins at Clintonia Rd. south of Pewamo.(common border of Clinton and Ionia Counties)
Follow west into Lyons.
Kimball Rd. becomes Bridge St upon entering the Village. This would be our 'Main St.' downtown.
Turn right at traffic light downtown.
Slight curve right just before Fire Station/ Village Office Building.
Parking lot on right. Island Drive to left.
Riverside Dr. (old M-21; ran through downtown) Begins north edge of downtown Saranac.
Follow east through 'South' Ionia.
Ends west edge of Lyons at 3 way stop at Libhart St. ( Keefer Hwy)
Turn Left and follow curve to right, down hill, cross bridge.
Left at traffic light. Slight curve right just before Fire Station/ Village Office Building.
Parking lot on right. Island Drive to left.
Keefer Hwy. (common border for Ionia and Lyons Townships) Libhart St. in Village limits.
Follow north from any point to 3 way stop at east end of Riverside Dr.
Proceed straight, follow curve to right, down hill, cross bridge.
Left at traffic light. Slight curve right just before Fire Station/ Village Office Building.
Parking lot on right. Island Drive to left.
M-21 at Muir South on Ionia St. (at west edge of village)
Turn right at each opportunity AFTER Arthurburg St. (uphill dead end)
During downtown events:
Modify directions to account for closed streets at one block each direction from downtown traffic light.
